Hanuman Tibba Expedition, Himachal

Towering at 5,982 meters, Hanuman Tibba is the highest peak in the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas. It is also one of the most technically challenging climbs in Himachal Pradesh. Located to the Northwest of Manali and to the East of Solang, this Himalayan peak is meant for experienced mountaineers who are ready to push their limits and are looking for extreme adventure.

The journey begins in Solang Valley (2,560 m), a popular adventure spot near Manali. The gradually ascending trail goes through Dhundi. On the way you can see the distant Hanuman Tibba Peak before you reach Bakar Thach (3,300 m), a beautiful alpine meadow surrounded by other tall Himalayan peaks. From there, trekkers continue to the Beas Kund Glacier (3,700 m), leaving behind alpine meadows and traversing the moraine fields and rocky outcrops. From here, a steep ascent takes you to the icy wilderness, with deep crevasses and towering cliffs and you finally make it to the base camp at Lady Leg.

After an important day for getting used to the altitude and technical training, the team climbs to Advanced Base Camp at 5,000 m, which includes crossing sheer ice slopes and braving low temperatures and the wrath of winds that you can hear howling. This route demands great physical and mental endurance. For the final day of summit push, you start early and climb up, slicing through the icy stillness and breath hanging in the thin air. The ascent is steep with snow slopes, ice walls, and sharp ridges testing your limits. With one final effort, you reach the top of Hanuman Tibba (5,982 m), surrounded by snow-covered peaks like Mt. Deo Tibba at 6,001 meters, Indrasan at 6,221 meters, and the vast Pir Panjal and Greater Himalayan ranges.
