Overview

The Kalihani Pass Trek in Himachal Pradesh is a thrilling journey that leads to Bara Bhangal, a secluded area where Himalayan shepherds live. Located in the far west of Manali, Kalihani Pass at 4820 m connects Kullu Valley to Bara Bhangal Village of Kangra district. This trek in Himachal Pradesh passes through thick cedar and oak forests, green meadows, and trails filled with wildflowers. It unfolds clear and stunning views of the Himalayan peaks like Indrasan (6,220 m), Deo Tibba (6,001 m), Maker Beh (6,068 m), Shikar Beh (6,200 m), and Gepang Goh (5,870 m). At 4,020 m, Khanpari Tibba provides one of the best viewpoints to witness the scenic Beas River Valley. Shepherds travel through these high-altitude pastures from summer to late autumn, adding a cultural charm to one of the best trails and hikes in Himachal Pradesh.

This trekking tour in Himachal Pradesh starts near the Hadimba Temple in Manali. It climbs gently through the Manalsu River valley. Green slopes and meadows of Lamadugh greet trekkers, followed by a beautiful climb under the Khanpari Tibba ridge. Here, rhododendrons, birch trees, and alpine wildflowers add color to the trail. Trekkers might also see Himalayan wildlife like monal, foxes, and even bears.

A 360-degree view from Khanpari Tibba shows the beauty of the Great Himalayan Range to the east, the Dhauladhar to the west, and the Pir Panjal to the north. These stunning landscapes, along with the peaceful charm of shepherd settlements and alpine meadows, make Kalihani Pass one of the best treks in Himachal Pradesh.
