Overview

The Deo Tibba Base Camp Trek, also known as the Chota Chandertal Trek, is among the most breathtaking treks in Himachal Pradesh. The trail winds through lush forests of pine, spruce, fir, oak, and silver birch, framed by dramatic Himalayan landscapes. Along the way, trekkers are treated to spectacular views of towering peaks such as Deo Tibba (6,001 m), Norbu (5,226 m), and Jagatsukh (5,050 m). The trek's highlight is the emerald-blue Chota Chandrataal Lake, shimmering at the base of the majestic Deo Tibba Peak.

This trekking tour in Himachal Pradesh begins in Jagatsukh village near Manali. The journey combines scenic beauty with cultural experiences. The trekking trail goes through Chikka, which is known for its ancient Takshak Nag temple and intricate stone carvings. As trekkers advance, they arrive at Seri Meadows, a beautiful campsite adorned with wildflowers and streams fed by melting snow. From Tenta, the impressive views of Deo Tibba (6001 m) and Indrasan (6200 m) peaks fill the skyline, while the nearby Norbu and Jagatsukh peaks enhance the view. After further traversing the rocky and steep trail, one reaches the enchanting Chota Chandertal Lake, where its emerald waters reflect hanging glaciers and cascading waterfalls.

Regarded as one of the best treks in Himachal Pradesh, the Deo Tibba Base Camp trek is perfect for both beginners and seasoned trekkers. It blends stunning Himalayan scenery with rich cultural charm, culminating at the sparkling emerald waters of Chota Chandrataal Lake beneath the towering Deo Tibba Peak.
