On the slopes of the Trishul massif and at an elevation of 3,354 meters that is cloistered in the Garhwal Himalaya of Uttarakhand in Chamoli, Bedni Bugyal exhibits an impressive alpine meadow that treats one's eyes as well as soul. Further, overlooking the silent water of Bedni Kund, camping in its vicinity over the lush green and gentle rolling landscape and under the serene blue sky that alters to a star gaze night is more than one's lifetime experience. For some it's an exotic hide out and for some it's an ideal holiday in the midst of bounteous goodness of nature BUT the majestic view of the Trishul massif, Nanda Ghunti and Chaukhamba is captured in everyone's lenses. The trek to Bedni Bugyal that snakes from Mundoli pulls in explorers from different parts of the world. Wining the heart of several amateur and mountain lovers, the Bedni Bugyal Trek is one of the easy to moderate treks in the Garhwal Himalayan belt that commences in the month of May and continues till November. It takes approximately 4 - 5 days to complete the entire trail from Mundoli, which is 240 kilometers away from Rishikesh by road.
The Bedni Bugyal Trek confines one's heart with the sprawling colours of nature bedded over the lush green meadows. The entire stretch from Mundoli to Bedni Bugyal displays a vast natural gallery of wild flowers and varied species of Himalayan trees. The journey from Mundoli wheels to Wan and thereafter the uphill trek leads off at Bedni Bugyal, which is approximately 11 kilometers from Wan. After exploring its vicinity and camping overnight the trail downhill follows the same route back to Mundoli and thereafter wheels down to Karnaprayag and followed by Haridwar via Rishikesh.
Day 1: Delhi to Haridwar
On arrival at the Delhi International Airport in the morning, meet our tour representative who will be there at the airport to receive you and thereafter to transfer you to Delhi railway station to board train for Haridwar. On reaching at Haridwar railway station, meet our travel guide who will take you to your already booked hotel in Haridwar. Check in at the hotel and rest for some time. Later in the evening, we will visit Harki Pauri for the Aarti ceremony that take place every day on the banks of holy Ganga River. Afterwards, we will return back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Haridwar to Karnprayag to Mundoli
Today after breakfast in the morning, we will check out from the hotel in Haridwar and leave for Mundoli by road, which is about 240 kms away and takes around 8 to 9 hours. En-route, we will pass through the holy river convergences at Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Karnprayag. On reaching Mundoli by the evening, we will check in at the pre-booked hotel and enjoy dinner followed by a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 3: Mundoli to Wan to Bedni Bugyal (3350 metres/11000 feet)
In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Wan, which is located at a height of about 2439 mtrs and about 10 kms away from Mundoli. The place is ideal for trekking. From here, we will leave for a leisurely walk covering a distance of about 11 kms to reach Bedni Bugyal. Bedni Bugyal is one of the ideal camping location in the Garhwal Himalayas. It is a beautiful green filed decorated with wide variety of blossoming flowers. Further, it also has a small lake situated in the middle of green filed where Tarpans are offered the devotees and a small temple for worship. On reaching Bedni Bugyal, enjoy dinner and a relaxing overnight stay in allotted tents.
Day 4: Bedni to Ali Bugyal to Bedni (10 kilometres/4 hours)
After breakfast in the morning, we will head towards our next destination and start trekking from Bugyal to the Ali Bugyal, which is located at an altitude of about 3300 metres. On the way, we will be climbing a steep forest covered with rhododendron, Pine, Deodar, and Spruce and oak trees. After trekking for about 4 hours, we will reach Ali Bugyal and explore stunning beauty of the region. Here, we will spend some quality time before heading back to our camp site in Bedni. On reaching, enjoy delicious dinner flowed by a relaxing night stay in tents in Bedni.
Day 5: Bedni Bugyal to Wan (2436 metres/8000 feet)
We will head towards Wan after having breakfast in the morning. Wan is the biggest village situated in Chamoli District and is located at a height of about 2436 mtrs. We will trek from Bedni Bugyal to Wan, which is about 3 to 4 hour walk. The trek is a slow fall and thus will be an interesting path for beginners. On reaching Wan, have dinner and an overnight stay in tents already arranged by our team.
Day 6: Wan to Rishikesh (2200 metres /7200 feet)
In the morning after healthy breakfast, we will leave by road for Rishikesh. On the way, we will stop for lunch and afterward, we will continue our drive. On reaching Rishikesh in the evening, check in at the already booked hotel and have dinner. Take pleasure of an overnight stay in the hotel in Rishikesh.
Day 7: Rishikesh to Haridwar to Delhi
On the last day of the tour, we will have breakfast early in the morning and afterwards, we will check out from the hotel in Rishikesh and drive to Haridwar. On reaching Haridwar, we will spend some quality time near the ghats of Ganga River. Also, one can explore the local market of Haridwar and do the shopping. Thereafter, we will have lunch and leave for Delhi either by road or by train as per the chosen package.
