Manali - Leh Mountain Biking
Day 1: Delhi to Manali (585 kilometre/approx. 14 hours)
In the evening we will board the Air Conditioned Volvo Coach scheduled at 6.30 PM from Delhi for Manali. It will be an overnight voyage.
Day 2: Arrive Manali
In the morning, we will reach Manali. Upon arrival, you will meet our Guide and will be transferred to the hotel, where you can check-in and get some rest. This all day is meant for acclimatization and relaxing. If you want then, you can move ahead for a test riding in the nearby region of the town. We will be staying overnight at the hotel in Manali. (Breakfast Included)
Day 3: Manali - Marhi (42 kilometre/3320 meters)
On this day, we will begin our mountain biking trip up to Marhi. Here, you can enjoy picturesque views of the valley overlooking the snow covered peaks and offers some awe-inspiring vistas of the Deodar and pine trees on the way. This trail will also be a warm up for you for the demanding ride ahead. After cycling farther than Manali all the way from an evergreen region we deal with the first of the many switchback and hairpin bends on the way to the famous, awe-inspiring Rohtang Pass. We will have delectable dinner and will stay overnight at the tents. (Breakfast/Dinner/Lunch included)
Day 4: Marhi - Keylong (78 kilometres/3350 meters)
Today, we will begin the day covering about 12 Kilometres ascent towards the famous Rohtang Pass, from where you will get the opportunity to view some captivating picturesque vistas on the sphere of the snow-capped peaks and glaciers if the climatic condition is fine. After, we having some rest and we get recharge ourselves for further trekking in this beautiful valley, we leave behind the verdant vegetation and continue train moving down to Gramphu. In this place, we move ahead on the flat road with unmetalled stretches as we cross the rampant stream of the Khoksar river and continue an easy and short journey to Sissu. This place is nestled in the Pir Panjal Range's foothills. Later from here, we will take a little ride in the direction of Keylong passing through the mountain streams curving over the way. We will have delicious dinner and stay overnight at a rest house.
Day 5: Keylong - Patseo (48 kilometres/3820 Meters)
Today, it will be a fairly trouble-free day and we can cycle up to our next destination Patseo. The landscape is parched and the thoroughfare is rocky and dusty. After passing the village of Jispa, we come across a canyon and move downwards before embarking on the journey to the gradient to Patseo. After moving ahead for some time we will sense the remoteness of this place, with just a few sheep spotted around. Now we will reach the terrain of the Lamas. Far away, you can spot the desolate and awe-inspiring vision of the spectacular elevated Himalayan ranges. We will have delectable dinner and will stay overnight in the tents set up here.
Day 6: Patseo - Sarchu (58 kilometres/4255 Meters)
Today it will be a tough ascent towards the Baralacha La Pass. Once reaching here, you will earn the amazing rewards of this trail will be rewarding as you pass through this untamed and picturesque countryside. The pass is barren with almost no vegetation; here the mountain sides look more like a quarry that is scree and wobbly rocks covered. As we move down the gorge region of Bharatpur, the Mountain Rivers will need to be passed before reaching our final destination. We will have scrumptious dinner and will stay overnight at the tents set up at Sarchu.
Day 7: A Rest Day
This day is meant to acclimatize have some rest and to explore and capture the startling vistas.
Day 8: Sarchu - Whisky Nallah (Approximately 56 kilometres/4750 Meters)
This day will begin with an easy cycling and later we will be tackling the crisscross "21 loops of Gata" at about 15,030 feet elevation to the famous and awe-inspiring canyon wall. After reaching the pinnacle of the Nakeela Pass, we move on a downwards trail to Whisky Nallah. Further, the day's trail passes through some fabulous arid mountain backdrop of the towering ranges. We will have delightful dinner and will stay overnight at the tents set up in fabulous surrounds.
Day 9: Moray plains - Debring (82 kilometres/4835 Meters)
On this day, we will start the day ascending the 2nd premier pass on the Manali - Leh thoroughfare up to the Lachalang La. Here the road is very intricate of the trip with a discrete lack of road or path, the route is very gravelly and also, there are scores of loose stones on the way. From here, a descent towards Pang down a precipitous sided canyon begins, followed by 8-kilometre switchback ascend before we reach the flat pinnacle of the Moray Plains. This bleak region is known for its widely altering temperatures in the morning & evening, with sandstorms and high-speed winds. The only indication of life in this region is the resilient Nomadic Changpas, found here taking care of their yaks in this highly deserted place. We will now camp 20 kms away at Debring, located below the 2nd highest pass of the world, the Tanglang La at 5,360 Meters. We will have delicious dinner and will stay overnight at the tents set up here.
Day 10: Debring - Rumptse (51 kilometres/4260 meters)
Today, it will be a challenge definitely, but it will truly be a delightful reward as we reach the summit, then from here we will begin down a thrilling 1200 Meters decent of the pathway that leads towards the Rumptse village. We will have delicious dinner and will stay overnight at the tents set up here.
Day 11: Rumptse - Leh (91 kilometres/3500 meters).
On this day as we proceed the downwards trail towards Upshi the backdrop changes radically as we reach near in a fertile and verdant irrigated valley beside a river spotted by striking Stupas and villages. The notable red colored soaring mountains all around us add to the prettiness and affluence of the panorama. Crossing the Indus River the road recovers as we pursue the other road users towards Leh. This is an easy ride as we pass the Thiksey Monastery and the Chortens Garden before we reach Leh. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel. (Breakfast included)
Day 12: Leh Rest
The day is for relax.
Day 13: Leh - Khardung la - Leh (50 KMS approx)
In the morning after breakfast start your bike tour to Khardung la (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft). Explore the area and ride back to Leh. Overnight at hotel.
